A hardcore Maoist and member of Zonal Committee of banned CPI(Maoist) ,RamChandar Mahto was arrested during a late Saturday evening operation by the special group of CRPF and Gomia police from Dumari -Bihar railway station in Gomoh-Barkakana route.
Police in-charge of Gomia police laxamikant told the pioneer that Ramchandar was found in possession of Rs 90,000 cash and other material, which carries financial details as levy from different sources and of the money spent. Two mobile phones were also seized from him, laxamikant mentioned.
Ramchandar Mahto was arrested by the Bokaro police at Dumari -Bihar railway station, some 50 kms away from the district headquarter on Saturday. He was intercepted by the police while he was going to Tenughat to meet his comrade ex-area commander Mithlesh Singh alias Duryodhan Mahto.
Besides Rs 90,000, the police had recovered a large numbers of documents from his possession which apparently deals with rebels affairs. Ramchandar, who hails from Gomia block,is said to have accepted his involvement in a number of attacks on the police.
