A driver of a car lost control thrashed more than a dozen people from Indrapuri Chowk to Pelawal police station. Some were severely injured and small vehicles which came in its way were damaged. Those injured were first admitted in Sadar Hospital, Hazaribagh, from where seven have been referred to RIMS, Ranchi. In Pelawal market area the car finally stopped due to heavy traffic. Agitated people beat the driver Subodh Kumar and torched the car. Pelawal police reached the spot and rescued the driver from the crowd.
According to eye witnesses, a Chevrolet Enjoy car first dashed a scooty near Indrapuri Chowk and rushed towards Pelawal. After a few seconds it slammed into a tempo and injured all the passengers. After that car hit many persons in Pagmil muhalla, near Jharkhand Hotel and near the Pelawal Police Station who were either on two wheelers or were pedestrians. Among the severely injured, Mahesh Paswan, Subeda Khatoon, Sajjada Khatoon, Chandani Parveen, Md. Kamruddin, Abdul Mazid, Monu Kumar were referred to RIMS. It is in talks that both the owner of the car and the driver are the family members of a policeman.
