Three persons were killed on the Dumari-Bermo road near Aahardih more on Sunday night at about 9 pm when they were run over by a speeding Haiwa tuck.
In protest, the shocked and agitated locals staged a road blockade on the Bermo-Dumari, which threw the traffic out of gear for nearly three hours. The budged after an assurance from the local administration, police sources said.
The deceased have been identified as Anil Saw and his two sons namely Ankit Kumar (14) and Ajit Kumar (12) – father and sons of local Gatigrah village of Nimiaghat in Giridih district.
According to reports, all three were returning on their motorcycle from Kharpito village to Aahardih village when a Haiwa truck hit them near Aahardih more killing them on the spot. The driver and khalasi fled away from spot with their Haiwa truck. The road block was lifted around midnight only after the intervention of local MlA, Jagarnath Mahto and Nawadih police.
