A severe case of lynching was aborted which could have taken the lives of all three but despite police firing in air and swift rush of three mob fury victims to Sadar Hospital in Daltonganj from Teesibar village under Pandu police station last night one of the 3 persons died.
SP, Palamu, Indrajeet Mahatha, said Bablu Mushar died who was beaten up by angry mob at Teesibar last evening along with Guddu Mushar and Vikas Mushar. Police rushed these 3 to Daltonganj Sadar Hospital. Bablu died after 45 minutes of his treatment in the hospital. Guddu and Vikas are out of dangers. Vikas has head injuries and was given 10 stitches.
Dr R K Ranjan said Vikas is under our observation as he has severe head injuries.
On why these three were so beaten up by mob SP said, “They were taken for thieves.”
About their identity or so SP said Guddu told police that they 3 are of Bihar’s Barun police station.
They had come to Lallu Mushar’s house at Teesibar on Tuesday to settle a marriage deal. Here at Lallu ‘s house they lived well on Tuesday but on Wednesday all hell broke on them added SP.
Quoting Guddu SP said Lallu’s daughter Sunita Devi on Wednesday realized these three were in fact thieves and cried wherein villagers reached her father’s house and dragged these three out and beat them up most brutally.
SP said the mob could have finished them , lynched them but police opened 4 rounds of firing in air and that saved the situation and their lives.
The firing in air was most warranted as the situation was going out of hands added SP. It was firing in air and so there is no question of any injury at all he said.
Police are trying to find out the real spark behind this their being branded as thieves on the second day of their stay in Lallu mushar’s house and then mob fury unleashed on Wednesday.
Guddu sprang one more surprise when he claimed they were four and he even gave the name of this fourth man as Amarjeet. Amarjeet Mushar stands ‘missing’ if Guddu’s version is believable.
SP commenting upon this said our police had searched every nook and corner of Teesibar and police did not find this fourth man but if he was at Teesibar during the time of mob fury then he would be found out by us. Police cannot hazard any guess with regard to his fate now he added.
Police have registered a case of attempt to lynching, causing death by beating and creating enormous law and order problem against some identified and some unidentified people among the mob. Police are guarding the now two Mushars Guddu and Vikas undergoing treatment in the hospital.
