A man was convicted and awarded 10 years Rigorous Imprisonment by the district court Bokaro for sexually assaulting a minor girl under Jaridih police station in Bokaro.
Special Judge of POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Ranjeet Kumar Bokaro district court convicted Laxmi Kant Sinha (54) a resident of Tupkadih of Bokaro district and awarded him 10 years RI. The court also imposed a fine or Rs 10,000 to the offender, informed SK Jha Advocate of the district court.
The court also directed DLSA to provide fair compensation to the victim from the government along with the fine amount. The offender always used to visit victim’s house, on 19 January 2014 he molested the minor girl in her house, informed Jha.
Soon after the incident, the girl sought for help and Sinha was caught by the neighbours and later handed over to the police, he said.
