Chunnu Kujur, a resident of Patratu area of Hurhuru mohallah of Hazaribagh town died on Sunday due to drowning in the ditch built by a construction company.
When the mukhiya of that area Mahendra Beck got this information, he informed the BDO and other officials of the block but no one came. Then with the help of the locals, his body was taken out of the ditch. According to locals, a construction company had built a ditch which is 20 feet deep 50 feet broad and about 100 feet long just adjacent to the under construction bypass road and there was no sign board or mark had been put there to make people aware of danger.
Since Kujur was the only earning member of his family,the villagers have demanded proper compensation for his family members. The district administration has assured them that the deceased will be duly compensated.
