The mismanagement at Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) has put parents of newborn into a shocking state.
Parents alleged exchange of their male infant with a female one at BGH. Twenty five-year-old Sangeeta Kumari, wife of Sanjay Kumar was admitted at BGH and gave birth to a male child with cesarean delivery on July 20 at 10.45 am. The hospital staff on duty confirmed a boy was born. But on Sunday morning Sangeeta handed over a girl infant for breast feeding.
Anxious parents enquired from the hospital staff about the gender mismatch but they denied any such irregularity. Displeased parents along with their 30-40 relatives and friends started hue and cry to meet with the management heads but they were expelled out from the hospital campus by CISF cops.
Shocked parents rushed to Sector-4 police station to lodge an FIR but Officer-in-Charge was not available there. They were asked come in the evening said Rajeev Kumar, a close kin of the infant. Just after the birth of the baby, hospital staff confirmed us about the boy child and they showed us the baby. We have taken the photo of the baby from our mobile phone, said Sanjay Kumar the father of the infant.
“After showing the baby, staff asked us money for sweets; happily I had given them but on Sunday morning they were handed over a girl child for feeding”, added Sanjay.
