An adult and three children have died of malaria in Odisai village, under Kotgarh panchayat of Noamundi block of West Singhbhum.
Tikaram (one) died on Wednesday while Chandmuni (seven) and Sado Kerai lost their lives earlier this week. Deputy Commissioner Abu Baquar Siddiqui said he had sent a medical team to the village. "We are keeping an eye on the villagers' condition. Any sight of symptoms, and the person would be brought to Chaibasa Referral Hospital immediately," he said.
Meanwhile, local MP Madhu Koda visited the village on Thursday and claimed that dozens were suffering from malaria there. The former CM urged the district administration to take immediate measures.
