State universities are in stand up position for making sitting arrangements for its examinees specially of under graduate courses as a fleet of university examinations are in the pipeline be it of technical or non-technical like graduate courses, dental courses, B Tech courses, medical courses, MBA courses etc in many of the universities of the state.
Sources said conduct of examination is a big challenge as sitting arrangement is to be done in the light of Examination Act and further with coronavirus around no congestion of examinees at one examination centre or room can be allowed as then in that event police and magistrate may invoke penal action for violation of social distancing against centre superintendent, examination officials even invigilators of that exam centres. Sources said parents/ guardians are also worried as to how their wards will give examination which till date has been 3 sitting on one bench of five feet only.
SDPO Sadar Sandip Kumar Gupta said, “ Once school/ college opens police will keep a strict vigil on the campus to ensure health safety measures there like hand wash, sanitization of class rooms, black boards, desks, benches, toilets are in order or not etc.”
Sources said following PM Narendra Modi’s coinage of two yard distance too essential to break coronavirus chain the state universities are on live wire as to how and where examinees can be seated with this protocol of 2 yard distance away from each other in examination hall/centre.
Sources said there are 3 or 4 heavy rush subjects in UG courses like MIL Hindi, History, Political Science, Economics etc where there are a huge number of examinees in every degree college.
Ranchi university Ranchi and NP university Daltonganj have already fractured its MIL Hindi paper in at least three groups A, B , C to manage the sitting crisis of the examinees of this paper.
Sources said for maintenance of 2 yard distance between one examinee and the other a similar fracturing is required to be done for subjects like History, Political Science, Economics where number of examineesremains on the upper side.
VC NPU S N Singh said, “Our MIL Hindi paper is split. We print three sets of questions of this subject and examination of it is taken on three different dates just to de congest and de crowd our examination centres for this paper.”
