Following appeals coming from none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Raghubar Das to make maximum use of Indian products, Government buildings in Jharkhand this Diwali, will be decorated only with ‘Make in India’ lights. Special verbal instructions have been passed to the concerned contractors to use only Indian products for the purpose of decorating Government buildings in Jharkhand.
“We have already circulated instructions to the contractors not to use Chinese products during this Diwali for decorating Chief Minister’s residence, Governor House, Judges’ and Ministers’ residence etc,” said a senior official in the Energy Department who did not wish to be
quoted.
The official said that due to abundance of Chinese products in the market, the contractors have been facing problems to arrange made in India products, and are somehow trying to manage decorative lights from Delhi and Kolkata.
“Not only this Diwali contractors have also been asked to arrange sufficient decorative lights for foundation day celebration also where no Chinese products will be used,” said the official.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made appeals to the people of the Nation to make more and more use of Indian products rather than using Chinese products so that per capita income of the Country made goods gets a boost up. A silent campaign is also being carried out on the social media like Facebook, Twitter and WhattsApp urging people to use Indian products and shun Chinese products during this Diwali.
Traders, entrepreneurs and residents in various parts of the Country have also unanimously joined hands to boycott Chinese products for decorating their houses and shops during this Diwali.
“Due to some compulsions, we cannot out rightly ask the business fraternity to compleletely shun Chinese products but we can definitely appeal them to make minimum use of it. We have also asked them to purchase Indian diyas and candles for decorations rather than buying Chinese lights,” said FJCCI member Pawan Sharma.
An appeal has been made to give priority to the Country’s interest over their personal interests, he added.
“We want to show solidarity with the country’s integrity and support to fight terrorism,” said Sharma.
Traders inc. in some parts of the Country has also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asking him to ban import of Chinese
products.
