Days after the Diwali celebration, Congress’ Mahagama MLA Dipika Pandey Singh has raised an objection over the driver of the BDO of Mahagama block delivering sweets to her on behalf of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

In a video statement the MLA said that as a public representative she felt insulted over BDO sending sweets and greetings to the chief minister through his driver.

“Respected Chief Minister, I am thankful to you for your Diwali sweets and wishes. The driver of the BDO of Mahagama came to my residence and he handed over sweets and greetings sent by you. Being a woman I suffer insults. But this insult of a public representative is an insult to the public. I request you that before things go out of hand you save your credibility. The way officials are wantonly behaving and treating public representatives they need to be restrained,” the MLA has said.

The MLA said that Mahagama BDO Praveen Chaudhary has no sense of respect and the protocol which a public representative is entitled for. As her statement has rippled the political circle of Jharkhand this is not the first time when she aired her opinions often critical to the Government.

When contacted the MLA said that she only pointed out basic courtesy officials have not been maintaining towards people and people’s representatives. “Such conducts of bureaucracy create negative opinions about the government which I pointed out,” she said.

Earlier she had commented on FIR lodged against some of the Congress MLAs by the police including her and said that MLAs were vindicated by the local administration.

During horse trading allegations against the Congress MLAs following a complaint she had raised objection against the alleged character assassination of Congress MLAs by the vested interests.

Similarly she has been very critical to policy matters of the government namely the job, women security and proper representation of MLAs in the planning and policy making. She has constantly been raising the issue of para-teachers, plight of the teachers of unaided education among others.
