The Election Commission of India (ECI) today announced the date for holding a bypoll for Madhupur Assembly constituency. According to a notification issued by the ECI, the bye-election for Madhupur will be held on April 17.
The Madhupur seat fell vacant after the death of Haji Hussain Ansari last year.
The last date for filing nomination is March 30 while scrutiny of the nomination paper will be done on March 31.
The counting of votes will be done on May 2.
The JMM has already announced field Minister Hafizul Hasan from the seat.
