BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav today took stock of party organisational issues and took feedback from MlAs about the activities being done at the grass-root level. Madhav is on three-day tour of the State to gauge the nerves of party activities and the works being done at the State level.

The senior party official chaired two back to back meetings with State unit of the party and the core committee of the State taking detailed inputs on the party activities of the State, said party officials. He discussed contemporary issues in the State alongwith public welfare schemes run by the Centre and the State, said an official release from the party.

State unit president of the party lakshman Gilua apprised the national general secretary of the organisational activities, while Madhav talked to party officials and asked them about the feedback of masses on the issues pertaining farmers and government’s work in the rural areas.

Party insiders revealed that Madhav also talked to selected MlAs about the response of government’s work in their areas and recent issues that have emerged in State causing resentment among people. He also asked party workers to instill faith of people, especially the tribal residents of the State in the present regime.

“Discussions were also held on the works of the State and Central governments and the impact of policies on the people. The point also came along the discussion that the tribal population has a feeling that the incumbent government’s policies are against it, which is not the case. The party officials were asked to work intensively on clearing the perception among the tribal communities,” said an MlA requesting anonymity.

Notably, the government has attracted criticism from tribal groups and political parties after it tried to amend the centuries old land laws protecting land of the tribal people of the State.

Another senior party functionary expressed satisfaction over the issues that were discussed in the meeting and said that the BJP Central leadership was keeping a close eye on the working of the State government. “The senior party functionaries have been keeping a watch over the events in the State and it is a very positive thing that the issues are being discussed. It is not only for the good of the government but for the people of the State as well,” he said.

Madhav will visit West Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan and Khunti districts on June 18 to take part in booth level, division level and district level meetings.

Apart from State president lakshman Gilua, former CM Arjun Munda, Union Minister Sudarshan Bhagat, Chatra MP Sunil Singh, State Minister Nilkanth Singh Munda, Koderma MP Ravindra Kumar Rai took part in the core committee meeting.
