Political temperature in Jharkhand suddenly went several notches up however JMM supremo Shibu Soren’s house wore a serene look till late Thursday evening perhaps waiting for the formal announcement of new Government after six month’s hiatus.
While the junior Soren was busy in meeting with Congress’ top brass in Delhi, senior Soren was glued to the television set along with other party leaders at his house.
Senior party leaders started arriving at JMM Chief’s house since Thursday morning. JMM MlA from Barhet Hemlal Murmu, Sarath MlA Shashank Shekhar Bhokta, Tundi MlA Mathura Prasad Mahato and Madhupur MlA Haji Hussain Ansari were among the leaders to arrive Shibu Soren’s residence concealing their joy behind the veil of seriousness on their face.
“We are very happy and now we are waiting for Hemant to return from Delhi,” said Bhokta hinting a delay until the heir to the Chief Minister’s post arrives. The celebration was put on hold as confirmed by a worker sitting outside party office. “let him ascend to the throne. We can wait till then,” said the worker adding “Celebration is inevitable if it happens.”The mood cannot be different at State Congress Party office in Ranchi.
The building is being painted in anticipation of rosy days ahead. However, Congressmen downplayed the activity by terming it a routine affair. “Don’t read too much into it. This was planned much earlier,” said Congress Spokesperson Shailesh Sinha. Sinha however expressed happiness over the direction the negotiations headed.
