love ends sour for a UT prisoner Perwez Alam who ran away from the sadar hospital prison ward on the intervening night of March 17 and 18. The escapee was caught at Babu Ghat bus stand in Kolkata on April 8 by a team of Palamu police who looked and acted as bus passengers but when the team spotted Perwez it made no mistake. Perwez was brought down to Daltonganj on April 9 and the same day he was remanded in judicial custody.
At Babu Ghat bus stand Perwez was to meet his beloved and she was there too and the two Perwez and this girlfriend of him had no inkling that Palamu police had almost zeroed in on Perwez and when Perwez wanted to shake hands with his beloved there was the police team and Perwez had no choice but to succumb to law.
SP Palamu Indrajeet Mahatha confirming this episode said Perwez was on the run from the night of his escape from the sadar hospital prison ward on the intervening night of March 17/18 as Perwez went everywhere like Garhwa, Renukoot, Moghulsarai, Delhi Kota Bareilly and finally in Kolkatta he was so caught by the Palamu police team. Perwez even sought divine intervention at a holy shrine in Ajmer.
Mahatha further said ‘ We were hot in pursuit of Perwez. We informed the regional passport office Ranchi to remain on alert if any application for passport in the name of Perwez Alam comes up there’.
SP further added ‘ We also wrote to land registration deed office to alert us if Perwez comes there to sell off any of his landed property’ Banks too were issued advisory in this regard he reiterated.
However Perwez ran out of luck for love reiterated SP. He said the girl was from Jharkhand living in Kolkata with whom Perwez had this illicit relation has been let off as she has just been entrapped in love by this Perwez a man of dubious distinction. Perwez faces double murder charges in Panki police station.
However SP Palamu came very heavily upon the security personnel and doctorof the central jail Daltonganj where Perwez was a UT and had escaped from the prison ward of sadar hospital Daltonganj.
The SP said he had got this allegation that one security personnel Dwarika Munda had allegedly taken Rs3,000 for his escape while the jail doctor Hariom is alleged to have taken Rs6,000 from Perwez for giving him a false health ailment report
Mahatha added, “These are allegations. Police will delve into it. So there is no jumping to any conclusion right now.”
The SP said ‘Perwez’s wife was the first to rebuke him for jumping the prison ward in the sadar hospital. Perwez’s two sons also disapproved of his doings. His two sons were taking religious lessons in Kota and Bareili where this fugitive father went also’.
