After weeks of preparations, promotion, chaos and sacrifices made by the candidates and party workers for Tuesday’s election, the rush seems to have now come to a halt. So what are they doing now to get their systems cool downIJ The Pioneer interviewed some of these contestants to know their plans for getting out of the pressure zone post the elections.
C.P Singh, BJP (Ranchi)
“The ambience around me has still not come to a standstill. We have already started planning for the next phase of election. Working for the society and people does not have any end. I’m still equipped with a lot of task to accomplish.”
Surendra Singh, Congress (Ranchi)
“Our party workers, supporters, and I am feeling relieved from the pressure of elections. I met a lot of my team members and workers in the morning. For lunch I had daal with roti and chawal. In the evening I have to take my daughter for a checkup. She needs a much better medication to get cured quickly. As for the night, I will make sure to have dinner with my family.”
Mahua Maji, JMM (Ranchi)
“It is my birthday today. I distributed cake amongst my staff members and party workers. Till evening I will be dedicating my time in my Dhurwa office. I had some tasty puri-subji for breakfast. Unfortunately, I had to skip my lunch. In the evening I have to visit a function organized by my party. And at night I’ll have a hearty dinner together with my whole family.”
Seema Sharma, BJP (Hatia)
“I have to see off the party’s national president at the airport around noon. Post some work, I’ll be back in the evening. Sadly a party worker’s mother has expired, so I have to make a visit to her family. Elections might have got over in this area, but for the next phase I’ll start working very soon. Our job has not got over. Indeed it is just the beginning of it. We have to remain in the public’s eye and work for them.”
Dr. Jeetu Charan, BJP (Kanke)
“I am feeling very relaxed now. All the pressure of running from place to place; meeting various people and voters, and having sleepless nights have now cooled down for a while. I’ve still to cover up a list of programmes in the days to come. The pressure from Tuesday is still somehow dominant. Not able to enjoy delicacies for a long time, I had puri, vegetables and halwa for breakfast. After meeting public in afternoon, I will visit my clinic in the evening to meet my patients with peace.”
Rajiv Ranjan, JVM (Ranchi)
“On Tuesday we continuously worked for 24 hours. A sigh of relief was achieved in the morning today. Considering my regular routine which was lacking for sometime, I had bread and tea for breakfast. After a get-together with the party workers, I went straight to Pandra to attend a meeting. Due to a still busy schedule, I had to skip my afternoon meal. No special plans for dinner have yet been arranged. After a day or two, we have to again start working for the next phase.”
