The promotion for primary teachers in lohardaga has been pending for last 30 years hence all the schools run without principals. Moreover, many junior teachers have got promotion illegally, said locals.
As per the information the teachers had got promotion last time in the tenure of DSE Sarita Dadel in year 1996 from the date of 1985-86. After that the teachers have not been promoted on timely basis. There are 74 posts of principals in lohardaga included 22 in lohardaga, 11 in Kuru, 12 in Senha, 12 in Bhandra and 17 in Kisko. There are 112 primary schools in the district, 113 upgraded middle schools, 74 establishment permitted middle schools, 8 primary schools for minors, 3 middle schools for minors and 9 basic schools. There are 407 teachers in primary section and 355 in middle section. In 74 middle schools there are one post for language, Maths science and arts.
The teachers have been demanding for promotion for a long period. It is told that some of the teachers have got promotion illegally.
In this regard the chief secretary of Jharkhand Primary Teachers’ association Kishor Kumar Verma said, “There must be special audit for detection of illegal promotion and after that the promotion of the teachers should be assured.”
“The list of names for the teachers for promotion has been collected. The file for this regard has been put up. Within a week it would be solved,” said DSE Prabala Khes.
