On the occasion of Dhanteras, the people went on shopping till late night. The shops were beautifully decorated in the urban as well as the local markets.
It was tough to move even on bikes since noon to 11 in the night, especially in the areas of Gudri bazaar, Upper bazaar, Mahavir chowk, Shashtri chowk, Rana chowk and Powerganj chouk. People purchased gold, silver, diamond, refrigerators, cameras, TV, watches, mobiles, laptop, inverter, furniture, bikes, utensils and coins and biscuits of gold and silver. A total business of Rs 5 crores was recorded on the day.
