Borio MlA lobin Hembrom  on Tuesday sworn-in as the 12th Minister in the State Cabinet at Raj Bhawan. Governor Syed Ahmed administered him oath of office.

Hembrom, a Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader, has been sworn-in to fill the void in the Cabinet created after littipara MlA and Minister for Food & Civil Supplies Simon Marandi was sacked by Chief Minister Hemant Soren for allegedly working against party’s interest in Santhal region. “I express my gratitude to Shibu Soren and the Chief Minister for showing confidence in me,” said the JMM leader after taking the oath.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister expressed his Government’s resolve to continue development amid turmoil in the coalition. Soren suggested that the induction of Hembrom will give thrust to development work that supposedly hampered due to a vacant birth in the cabinet. “Work will happen at greater pace after this (induction of Hembrom),” maintained CM.

Soon after becoming 12th Minister Hembrom elucidated broad action plan for the remaining tenure of the State Assembly which will be dissolved in the next couple of months to elect new members. The Borio MlA, however, is keeping his fingers crossed about the portfolio which will be given to him before giving final shape to specific plan of action.

“There are many priorities (as minister). Although I have not been given any portfolio I will try to fulfill people’s aspirations besides implementing projects of the department that will be given to me,” continued Hembrom.

Hembrom who was the recipient of Birsa Munda Best legislator Award-2013 indicated expeditious implementation of projects of the concerned department. He asserted to refrain from issuing controversial statements about coalition partners.

“Monsoon has started and very less time is left (for the assembly) so there is a challenge to implement projects in a short span of time,” concluded Hembrom.

Meanwhile, the CM tried to put up a brave face on the issue of pathetic electricity supply and sought to downplay the ongoing agitation as mere “politics”. “There is a lack of basic distribution infrastructure and agencies are working (to create basic infrastructure),” added Soren.
