Special arrangements have been made by East Central Railway to send Shahi Litchi of Muzaffarpur to Mumbai. For the convenience of the traders and farmers, a VPU Parcel vehicle with a capacity of 24 tonnes is being installed in 11062 Pawan Express from today. Today Shahi Litchi was sent by parcel vehicle by 11062 Pawan Express on the first day to Mumbai.
Litchi has been sent every year from Muzaffarpur Junction to other parts of the country including Mumbai metropolis through train. This year also special arrangements have been made by the Railways for the convenience of the traders and farmers willing to send litchi. For the transportation of litchi, a parcel vehicle is being deployed from Muzaffarpur to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in 11062 Pawan Express from today. Litchi has been made available for transportation from Muzaffarpur parcel offices are open 24 hours for booking so that farmers do not face any kind of inconvenience. If the demand increases, parcel vehicles can also be installed in other trains as per the requirement. Even before this, litchi is being sent to various stations by SLR/Brake Van of Mail/Express trains.
