Police here have seized about 130 numbers of livestock loaded on ten trucks on the Govindpur-Sahebganj main road near Bhutgaria under East Tundi police station, around 38 km away from district headquarters on late night of Monday.
East Tundi police station officer-in-charge Kuldeep Raj Toppo said, " twelve persons including three drivers were arrested on the spot. While the police intercepted the trucks, seven drivers managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness."
This road is now being used for smuggling livestock to West Bengal due to intensified checking at Maithon toll plaza. These would be sent to respective hoshalas after medical examination, said Toppo.
