lightning kills two minor girls in Giridih

Two minor girls were killed by lightning at Nawagrahchatti village under the Dhanwar police station on Friday.  According to police sources, 12-year-old Nitu Kumari and 12-year-old Sapna died on the spot, when the tree near which they had sought shelter in the rain was hit by a lightning. One 55-year-old Payasi Devi was sustained burn injuries due to the thunderbolt.

According to officials reports, all were resident of nearby village Nawagrahchatti village coming back home in the afternoon on  Friday. Meanwhile, rain started and they took shelter under mango tree and came under the lightning struck .Two were died on the spot and one got burnt in the incident . Police handed over the bodies to their family member after postmortem, sending shockwaves among the villagers of Nawagrahchatti village.
