A youth identified as Jitendra Manjhi, son of Hariya Manjhi, was killed after being struck by lightning at Aratard tola in Kamlapur village under the Jaridih police station here on Saturday late night at about 9:30 pm, officer-in charge Radha Kumari said.
According to information, Jitendra Manjhi belonging to Kamlapur village died on the spot after being struck by lighting when he had come out of his house yesterday night during rains when the lighting struck.
Early this morning his body had been sent for post-mortem.
Meanwhile Bermo MlA Yogeshwar Batul, CO and other local leaders rushed to the Jaridih police station and assured that the block official would pay a financial assistance to the family members of the deceased after official process.
