‘Kaushiki -The Goddess in every woman’ gathers rave reviews
From a school teacher to a busy corporate official and from a traveller to now an active writer, Rajshree Anand’s story is a compelling narrative of the triumph of the spirit.
Not every day one comes across such a person who not only takes out time to make a difference but makes their passion a way of life. Rajshree is one such rare personality.
Born in Jamshedpur, she grew up at Telco Colony and studied at Little Flower School. Out with her first book she is even ready for the second one. Her debut book titled, ‘Kaushiki -The Goddess in every woman’ is already making waves. The book covers the realms of Hindu mythology and the essence of womanhood.
“I grew up in Steel City, which used to celebrate Durga Puja on a grand scale. I have vivid memories of my experiences during the festivals. I have recollected those to author a book. The huge idols of Goddess Durga in all her finery with her ashta bhuja, a symbol of power, remind me of my mother multitasking in her varied roles. Times have changed and so have circumstances. Women so respected in every era had to take a backseat, but the goddess in her plays her part befittingly,” said Rajshree, currently in New Zealand along with her husband Anand Krishna, former senior official of Tinplate Company of India Limited.
She said that every phase of womanhood is like the nine days of the Durga Navratri, with celebrations bringing with it, her spirit of a strong homemaker, loving wife, and a mother through her compassion and her uprightness.
Rajshree presently resides in Dehradun, where she volunteers with monks and nuns at monasteries imparting teacher’s training techniques, summer activity classes and English speaking classes in Dehradun and Ladakh.
Her passion for teaching saw her in St Mary’s English School Bistupur, Jamshedpur Public School, Baridhi, DBMS English School, Dhatkidih and her last stint was as the Vice Principal, Kasidih High School before she moved base and joined the corporate sector, Heading Corporate Social Responsibility Department of Jindal Stainless Limited, Hisar, Haryana, working towards women empowerment and rural sustainability projects.
