latehar and Palamu police are all out to install CCTV cameras in their areas. Garhwa police are already up in this as Ranka More and Majhiaon More in this district will now be under the lens.
The police control rooms of latehar, Garhwa and Palamu will have the access to the transmission and display of the cctv cameras.
DIG police Palamu Saket Kumar Singh has confirmed this measure saying ' The State DGP D K Pandey has wanted cctv cameras to be installed at places most vulnerable and where harmony and amity gets fragile quite sooner'.
The DIG said Garhwa SP has taken the lead while the SPs of latehar and Palamu are about to launch it.
He said the cctvs will not only be at vulnerable locations but big and huge pandals of puja will have to install it.
He added "Small pandal organisers have been spared but the huge ones will have to keep it fixed."
The police control room cum riot control room will have the access to the film, transmission and display of the cctv footages directly.
DIG Saket said that WhatsApp will also be used by the police force. Police have with it a group of more than a dozen people in WhatsApp group. He said that this medium will be available to the police for effective co ordination on the occasion of two major religious occasions the Durga Puja and the Muharrum
DIG added further ' Non lethal weapons will be replenished'. He said the lethal weapons are always ready to use but it is the non lethal weapon that needs to be re stocked and rejuvenated like rubber bullets, tear gas shells.
Police in latehar, Garhwa and Palamu districts will have video camera men at its disposal.
Saket said ' DGP D K Pandey is a no non sense top cop who wants things to be done with all clarity and precision'.
Asked that some ugly episodes are taking places in some parts of the country and thus will this Palamu police range too have some hiccups DIG said ' People of this range are peace loving by and large and those showing any over smartness or over enthusiasm causing threat to harmony and law of the land will be booked under law'.
Riot control room will have more teeth men and machine wise he said. Technical devices will also be in use. Singh said there would be discreet and judicious bonding of those characters under section 107 of CrPC who are of dubious characters and carry a tag of violence or perpetrator of crime on such occasions in the past.
