land Revenue Secretary KK Sone has expressed surprise over the news about abolishing Commissionaries.  "I am surprised to that. What is the base of these talks."

He clearly said that no such decision has been taken yet by the state cabinet because his department has not sent any proposal to the cabinet for consideration.

The bar association of Hazaribagh is going to start agitation against the so called forth coming decision of the state government to abolish three divisional headquarters from the state in which North Chotanagpur commissionary having its headquarter at Hazaribagh is also included.

The decision of withdrawal of commissionaries is hot in talks in the town nowadays as one after another political parties has started announcing their support to the bar association. When this media man tried to know from where this information came, no one was in a position to give any concrete reply. Some said that CM himself has announced it in a meeting somewhere in the state. Some said that in last cabinet this proposal was passed.

In 1974 North Chotanagpur division was created by the then state government when Congress leader late Abdul Gaffoor was the CM of Bihar. The division was created by the bifurcation of Chotanagpur division having headquarter at Ranchi and in 1983 the then CM Chandrashekhar Singh had inaugurated the commissionary building at Hazaribagh. Since then divisional level officials and their offices are serving the people of Dhanbad, Giridih, Chatra, Koderma, Bokaro and Ramgarh districts from Hazaribagh.
