Well known for controversies the BJP MLA from Baghmara Dhullu Mahto once again has landed in controversy of alleged land grabbing of local landowners forcefully. Ashu Singh, who lives under Barbra police station levelled allegations against MLA of intimidation and not paying the agreed amount for land deal but capturing about three acres of land for which agreement was done about 13 years ago. He was talking to the media along with his relatives and also showed the agreement and other details of ownership.
Ashu claims that despite repeated requests the MLA didn’t get land transferred and erected a boundary on the land. He said, neither the police nor administration takes à ppropriate action
owing to the political clout of the MLA. Instede, under pressure from the MLA I have to face arrest for no fault of mine. He alleged that Mahto’s goons once again have started threatening me and are pressuring me to take over the entire land my family possesses at Ladhidumar locality. His entire family, including relatives, are under threat, he said, demanding from administration to get his land restored or to get it requested at current market price.
Incidentally, it’s not only the single allegation on the MLA. Several similar cases are pending in court for hearing .
The MLA however, rubisheses the allegations of Ashu Singh. “The land in question has been in our possession since long after part of it was registered. It’s an attempt to malign my political image,” said Mahto.
