Chief Minister Raghubar Das has reiterated his position on free Government land under illegal occupancy and made it clear that the mafia would be given no chance to manipulate things. However, indications are that the poor may get a lease of life in the process.
Speaking on the issue, Das said that a survey would be conducted to verify claims of the poor. “Government will conduct a survey with a view to regularising the poor residing on GM land for a long time. But the land mafias will have to vacate land if occupied,” said the CM on Tuesday addressing farmers coming from across the State.
He also made it clear that all the issues concerning land litigation will be resolved in the next three months on a mission mode by conducting camps at circle levels. “A calendar will be made for this. Camp will also be conducted to include farmers in Pradhan Mantri Fasal Beema Yojana,” he said during the ‘Kissan Samvad’ organised by the Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperative Department.
The CM further added that a committee has been constituted to look into the lease rate of Khas Mahal land. Coming to rural issue, he directed that any aggrieved villager can lodge a complaint on toll free number -181- against the mukhiyas who do not conduct gram sabha every month. He told the farmers not to get misguided as many people do not want them to prosper.
The CM also clarified that land of farmers would not be acquired without their consent. “School, road, hospital, canal etc will be constructed in villages which finally will benefit them. Canals and check dams will be made in the villages to irrigate the fields that would control migration from the state. Girls will be trained to do small works and B. Sc. boys and girls will be trained in diploma courses and connected with health centers,” said the CM, adding that such Samvad Programmes should be conducted on every six months.
“Water to every field and work to every hand are my priority. Seeds for fisheries will also be provided. The Government is also considering to purchase commodities on PPP mode so that the farmers get full price of their yield. Panchayat secretariats will be formed before August 15 for the benefit of the villagers. Villagers will get necessary certificates comfortably through it,” added the CM.
The secretariats will identify real beneficiaries for Indira Aawas and agricultural equipments. It was suggested in the meeting that license for brick chimneys should be given with the condition of leveling the soil so that the land can be used later. The formation of farmers’ school at panchayat level was also considered.
Agriculture Minister Randhir Singh, Revenue and land Reforms Minister Amar Kumar Bauri, Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma, Principal Secretary of Forest and Environment Department Sukhdev Singh, Agriculture Secretary Nitin Madan Kulkarni, Revenue Secretary KK Soan were present on this occasion.
