The nationwide hulaballoo over the alleged forcible driving out of around 12 families consisting of 42 members of the Mushar community from Murumatu village under the Pandu police station is now petering out following new questions coming out at a much faster speed than expected.
The Mushars have no piece of any sort of any government letter/document/ patta etc which can help them to stake claim for even a fraction of the land at Murumatu village where they lived and on August 29 were beaten up to vacate the land and their huts destroyed by the minority community.
Sources said a narrative was built portraying them as a rightful holder for the plot of land from which they were illegally and unlawfully thrown out perforce and thus they became a symbol of victim nationwide.
The crux of the matter is that the Mushars have no papers, which can speak for their any right to hold the land where they had had their huts before its demolition by the minority community.
A senior officer in the Palamu administration Shailesh Kumar Singh who accompanied DC Palamu Anjaneyulu Dodde on Wednesday during DC's visit to Pandu said "The DC asked the community members to show any paper related to the land on which they were dwelling till the day they were forcibly exited. They had no paper as such at all."
On the other hand the minority community has with it paper and land rent receipt of the said plot of land.
Dodde told the Pioneer that the piece of land in question is under dispute. Dodde said the Mushars have no paper of land while the other party the minority community has shown papers and receipts in respect of the land in question which are being scrutinised by the circle office team at Pandu Anchal.
Taj Mohammad a BJP minority cell functionary said the minority community had given in writing to the Pandu Anchal office about the Mushars staying put on the land illegally who need to be taken off from there but the Pandu Anchal office did nothing on the plaint.
He said had the Anchal office Pandu taken any initiative on the written plaint to its office by the minority community the August 29 and thereafter ugly narratives would not have been written nationwide.
DC Palamu Anjaneyulu Dodde has been urged to look into the fiasco of the Anchal office Pandu in this Murumatu village land matter.
Sources said the Palamu administration has however taken a very humane approach towards these dalit people.
Dodde while sitting on the ground, just to strike a sympathetic chord with the people denied and deprived, assured them of a good piece of land in a very short span of time and one site albeit a high land has been identified so far which is yet to be finalized only after search for suitable land ends up with this high land said the senior officer Shailesh Kumar Singh.
Dodde has assured Awas under the Valmiki Ambedkar Yojna to the eligible household Mushars once land gets settled in their names.
As the Mushars have no bank account DBT for facilities specially relief or compensation cash is out of the bonds for them now.
Sources said the administration is trying to find out the stubbornness of the Mushars who are insisting on their rehabilitation at the same plot of land at Murumatu. Sources said the maha dalits are being tutored by some vested elements to raise their demands to be re housed at Murumatu for which the administration is equally determined not to allow it as then it will be a festering wound for all times to come in the society.
Dodde is firm on this issue telling everyone that once the land in question is under dispute how can anyone be allowed to restart living there again. The Mushars will be getting land at some good locations for which our team is right on the job said the DC.
