Hindustan Awam Morcha (HAM) leader Vrishan Patel’s meeting with RJD chief lalu Prasad after he appeared before the Special CBI Court here raised eyebrows in the political circle that all was not well in the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar. Prasad appeared before the Special CBI Court of Pradeep Kumar in connection with fodder scam case RC47A/96 related to fraudulent withdrawal of over Rs  139 crore from Doranda Treasury.

“I had come here to meet Satish Sharma Ji, but as I came to know that lalu Ji is also coming here, I met him as he is also an old acquaintance and has also been our leader,” said Patel.

It was nothing more than a get together as they had been together for quite some time, he claimed.

Patel, however, also hinted that nobody was permanent enemy or friend in politics and said that they had been together for quite some time and may come together again. Notably, HAM chief Jeetan Ram Manjhi has also registered his dissatisfaction from time to time that he was not being given importance in the ruling alliance.

Meanwhile, CBI produced the then Animal Husbandry Officer of Torpa Sunil Kumar as another witness in the case who recorded his statement before the Court while he appeared before the Special CBI Court of Shiv Pal Singh through video conferencing in connection with another fodder scam case RC38A/96.

Prasad is currently lodged in Birsa Munda Central Jail after a special CBI Court of Shiv Pal Singh on January 6, pronounced 3.5 years’ jail and also slapped a fine of Rs  10 lakh for him in fodder scam case RC64A/96, related to fraudulent withdrawal from Deoghar treasury during 1991 to 1994.
