lack of resources behind loss: JVM

Most of the JVM candidates who unsuccessfully contested the elections underlined lack of organisational and financial support behind their losses. The party could win eight seats out of 73 contested in the Assembly polls.

“The meeting was a review after the poll result and all the candidates were invited. Their personal experience and reasons behind their losses were asked. They also talked about ideas to take the party forward and build the organisation afresh in their respective areas,” said a senior party leader.

Party supremo Babulal Marandi on the occasion encouraged them to fight for next five years and termed win and loss as part of politics. However, no discussion on JVM merger or any kind of association with the BJP took place in the meeting but Marandi indicating towards it termed the talks just a rumor being spread by opposition parties. A sitting MlA said that the decision in this regard has to be taken by party Babulal Marandi. “We were not asked about this in the meeting,” said he. About 50 candidates were present.
