Kooh Kooh security post set up amid disturbance by Maoists

India Reserve Battalion and Jharkhand Jaguar forces had a tough time in setting up their forward security post at Kooh Kooh under Naudeeha police station in Palamu’s Chhaterpur Sub Division.

Sources said the CPI Maoists’ Nitesh and Ajay Bhuiyan had admonished the unskilled labourers of Kooh Kooh village for working at the construction site of the forward security post.  The unskilled labourers did what they were told by the Maoists. The security post had come up just 45 to 50 days back. DGP DK Pandey had reached here twice during its setting up and start.

Kanhaiyya Singh, a senior security officer having a string of success against naxals in Palamu confirming this said, “We have this concrete information that Maoist Ajay Bhuiyan had telephoned here asking labourers to refrain from doing any construction work for the base camp.”

Singh said the non co operation of the local work force under pressure from the Maoists then forced us to have labourers drawn from Chainpur police station about 70 kilometers away from KoohKooh.  , with the passage of time the security forces here have begun to win the trust of the local work force.

At KoohKooh forward security post one company each of IRB and JJ is deployed, said SP Palamu Patel MayurKanhaiyyalal. The IRB company here is part of three battalion of IRB based in Chatra.

Asked about the role of veteran and dreaded Maoist Nitesh security officer Kanhaiyya Singh said “Ajay Bhuiyan telephoned the labourers under the command of Nitesh.” He further said ‘Nitesh now is holed up in the tri junction of Kothi (in Bihar) Naudeeha (Jharkhand) and Dumarya (Bihar) and his second in command Ajay Bhuiyan is operative but with the setting up of the IRB JJ combine security forces camp here AjatyBhuiyan is also in a kind of exile from here.

KoohKooh is the same place where in the 2014 loksabha election Maoists had fired at the BSF contingent which was deployed here for the conduct of peaceful poll.

Kanhaiyya Singh confirming this past incident said, “Once we were on patrol in this region when we intercepted a youth who was a para teacher and was doing recce for the Maoists.”  The youth was beaten up black blue and let off only when he promised to live a normal life added Singh.
