Kaushal Rani, mother of notorious fixer Ranjit Singh Kohli alias Raquibul Hassan, and a co-accused in Tara Shahdeo torture and forced conversion case, will have to remain in jail for more time as the court on Thursday demanded case diary from the police.

The court of Additional Judicial Commissioner AK Ray was hearing on the bail petition of Kaushal Rani which will be heard next on October 9.

“The court has called for the case diary in the case from the police and will take a decision on the petition after going through it,” said her advocate Avinash Pandey. Pandey requested to grant bail to Kaushal Rani considering her old age.

According to her advocate, there were no direct allegations against her. “All the allegations are made by her daughter in law Tara Shahdeo are against her son, who could not be in control of an 80-year-old lady,” he argued. “As per the case registered by the police, it does not appear to be the case of forced conversion,” said Pandey.
