SIM cards found from Rajeet Singh Kohli’s Blair Apartment residence were found to be dead (not in use) during the police investigation. Kohli’s advocate has claimed that barring the two SIM cards registered in the name of his aides, rest of the SIM cards recovered from his flat were registered in the name of Kohli and also found to be not in use.
As many as 36 SIM cards were recovered by the police along with several other objectionable documents on August 31 last year.
“According to the charge sheet filed by police, misuse of not a single SIM card was done by the accused and accept two of the 36 SIM cards recovered from his house, all were registered in his own name,” said Kohli’s advocate Avdhesh Pandey. Most of them were dumped after being used for some time, added Pandey.
An FIR was lodged by police at Hindpiri Police station in Tara Shahdeo torture case against Kohli charging him of impersonation and forgery for keeping more than 36 mobile SIM cards supposed to be registered in different names. Kohli was also booked in another case of torture of his wife Tara Shahdeo after she refused to change her religion.
Kohli’s counsel further added that only two SIM cards, according to the chargesheet have been found to be registered in the name of other persons, who also did not turn up in the court for giving explanations.
