Koda returns to 'roots' after 40-month hiatus

It was return to his constituency after 40 months of ‘exile’ for this MP. Former Chief Minister Madhu Koda on Wednesday landed on home soil only to claim that allegations of various scams were false and have been formulated to end his political career.

Jharkhand High Court has granted three weeks’ provisional bail to Koda, in a case of the rural electrification scam, for his mother’s treatment. He was accompanied to Jamshedpur by his MlA wife Geeta.

“Political parties have conspired to wipe me off. Charges against me have been framed just to end my political career. They are jealous of my success,” he said, though he did not name any person or party.

“I am happy to be back my home. I am thankful to the judiciary for granting provisional bail and have full faith in it. I was given bail to see my ill mother but my people are also like my parents, whom I can’t ignore. I met my mother and sought her blessings,” Koda said.

He also alleged that development in his constituency was being hampered by the previous Government in his absence.

Meanwhile, sources close to Koda said he would tour his constituency till May 5, before expiry of provisional bail. There is also a possibility that he will visit Gua and meet Bharat Samanta Party supporters.

The former CM was elected to Parliament from Singhbhum (reserved) seat in West Singhbhum and his wife is an independent MlA from Jagannathpur.
