KK Srivastava, a faculty member of Vinoba Bhave University (VBU), who was demoted to the position of Reader from Professor, has been re-promoted to the latter position after 11 years. The declaration was made by outgoing Governor Syed Ahmed recently.
Notably, the Governor, who is also the Chancellor of State Universities, had held a hearing on reconsidering the petition submitted by Srivastava on May. The declaration was made on May 13.
Srivastava’s promotion will now be effective from the rules of 1988. The lobbying for the re-promotion was done by Former Chief Secretary AK Singh-cum-advocate of Srivastava. Singh said that after a long wait, a Professor has finally got justice.
