The general budget presented by the Jharkhand government on March 3 was discussed in the House for two days. Responding to the suggestions, objections and reactions of the members participating in this discussion, Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore alleged that the central government is treating Jharkhand step-motherly. He said that the state's share in central taxes is not alms. It is Jharkhand's constitutional right.
He said that now the state has received only Rs 5736 crore as grant. Not only this, it is being continuously reduced. We are sitting with Rs 6000 crore of Jal Jeevan Mission, but the Center is not giving its share of Rs 6000 crore. It is not giving Rs 141 crore for old age pension and widow pension. Due to this, pension payment is affected since the month of October. Not only this, Rs 500 crore is not being given in the wage item of MGNREGA and Rs 600 crore in the material item. On the other hand, BJP members talk about the Center supporting the state.
Today, for the first time, BJP MLAs also boycotted the House while making various allegations against the government. During the discussion on the budget, as soon as BJP MLA Neera Yadav finished speaking, the BJP MLAs walked out of the House. However, BJP allies LJP and AJSU MLAs remained seated in the House and spoke their views. He said that they raise the question of subsidy on LPG cylinders. We ask what happened to the stoves distributed for Rs 38.49 lakh under the Ujjwala scheme. What happened to the amount of one hundred crore spent on Momentum Jharkhand. 210 MoUs were signed but 131 companies backed out. 35 companies did not get water, electricity and land.
Radhakrishna Kishore said that the BJP only makes a lot of noise about being the well-wisher of the Scheduled Castes. Their job is only to show off by eating food in their house. During the tenure of former Chief Minister Arjun Munda, a notification was issued in 2008 for the formation of the Scheduled Caste Advisory Council. Rules were also made but the council was not formed. The present government has decided to give it a concrete shape.
