Manatu police have arrested and remanded in judicial custody a 22 year old killer Satbeer Kumar who has confessed to have strangulated his 17 year old fiancee way back on September 26 in the jungles of Bansi Khurd under Manatu police station limits.
Manatu police retrieved the bones and clothes of the deceased girl Tuni Kumari only on January 13.
It was Satbeer Kumar who took the Manatu police to the exact location in the jungle on Saturday where he had gagged Tuni Kumari to death on September 26 last year.
The deceased's mother Gulabi a widow had lodged the FIR only on November 4, 2023. The delay was on account of Satbeer Kumar assuring the widow of the well being of Tuni Kumari all the time.
Satbeer Kumar went into hiding but very recently he came home at Majhouli village under the Tarhassi police station limits where went the Manatu police team and picked him up who cracked fast than expected and helped Manatu police lay hands on the bones and clothes of the deceased girl.
Manatu police have converted the FIR lodged on November 4 under section 366 A of the IPC, now into section 302 of the IPC with co sections of hiding the material evidences of the heinous crime committed by him.
Officer in charge of the Manatu police station Kamlesh Kumar said bones have been sent to the MMCH Daltonganj for referring it to the RIMS Ranchi for DNA test etc.
This is the first case of murder busted in 107 days in Palamu which at many points of time looked a closed case but the Manatu police remained after this case and got hold of Satbeer Kumar who did this heinous crime of murder of his lady love.
