Khunti Police has started action after the Home Department approved the action of PIT NDPS on Manish Munda and Lemsa Munda, residents of Maranghada area of Khunti district of Jharkhand.
The report of 7 people was sent to the Home Department for the action of PIT NDPS by the Khunti Police. On which Lemsa Munda and Manish Munda were stamped for action. After this, Lemsa Munda has been arrested by the Khunti police and sent to jail. This has been confirmed by Khunti SP, Aman Kumar. Although Manish Munda is still absconding. Actions like PIT NDPS CCA against smugglers are considered. According to the information, this is the first action in the State against any drug mafia under the PIT NDPS Act.
PIT NDPS Act 1988 is imposed on those criminals doing serious drug business who are found to be continuously involved in that crime. It is imposed against those criminals whose imprisonment in jail becomes very necessary. After the enactment of this act, the offender is not able to get bail for six months. Under the Act, the Deputy Commissioner and SP of different districts will send the proposal of the names of the same accused to the Home Department, who have been continuously involved in this case and it is necessary to put them in jail.
Under this Act, the accused does not get bail for six years. In such a situation, if the motion of the arrested accused under the PIT NDPS Act 1988 comes and it is accepted, then it will be difficult for the accused to get bail for six months.

The order refers to the order of the Supreme Court and the notification of the Union Finance Ministry, which states that the process of search, seizure, storage and destruction of any intoxicant will be done only in the presence of a gazetted officer. Videography of the entire action will also be done.
