Ace Actor Anupam Kher has been visiting the town at regular interval for quite sometime, making a buzz in town and attracting other biggies from the B-Town to the land of forests. After bagging three ambitious projects which are being shot in the State Capital, the National Award wining actor seems to be mesmerised with its scenic beauty and the age old tribal tradition of the State.

Kher first visited the state to shoot the biopic of Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He plays Dhoni’s father Pan Singh in ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’, while actor Sushant Singh Rajput will be seen in the ostensible character. The movie is slated to be released in September 2016 nationwide.

From his tweets, it is clear, that the tribal land has captured the attention of actor in several ways. “life is just so magical. This is the house our amazing Captain MS Dhoni lived in as a small boy,” Kher tweeted few months back.

The veteran actor praised the initiative of CM, Raghubar Das and the film policy which came in December 2015.  According to an official release, Kher during his meeting with Das said Jharkhand has unlimited prospects for film shooting as its climatic conditions, natural beauty and tourist spots are attractive.

Recently, the three century old Jagannathpur temple witnessed the mahurat shot of Anupam Kher starrer Gunday and Guddiyaa, touted as the first feature film that is being shot entirely in the state after Jharkhand Film Policy-2015 came into effect.

Notably, presence of Kher in the city has boosted the morale of local artists associated with film making. His association with films being shot in Jharkhand will help in attracting other filmmakers to the state for several ambitious projects.

Kher, who has, of late, been a frequent visitor to Jharkhand, is associated with three major projects which include biopic ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ directed by Neeraj Pandey, ‘Kaanu- Never Say Die’ and ‘Gunday and Guddiya’, written and directed by Sattwik Mohanty of Odisha and is entirely being in the state. Kaanu, another film starring Kher where the actor portrays the role of football coach, is also being shot in the Jharkhand, although not in its entirety.

All these films are either being shot or under the post production stage and will be released soon, presenting an all new image of the State.
