There is no relief to the disgraced former Mayor of Ranchi Municipal Corporation Rama Khalkho in the note for vote scandal that shocked the authorities a day before the Ranchi went to municipal polls.
The vigilance court today extended Khalkho’s judicial custody by another 14 days. According to the sources Khalkho has not filed for bail in the High Court and is said to be in weighting options following rejection of bail plea of the co-accused, Niranjan Sharma and Sudhir Sahu, by the High Court in June.
“She (Rama Khalkho) is still waiting for the Supreme Court’s final verdict on the bail petition filed by Niranjan Sharma and Sudhir Sahu,” said a lawyer Afsar Khan about the case status.
