Terming Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative to reform the labour laws as ‘pro-corporate’ and ‘anti-worker’ CPM Politburo member Brinda Karat threatened a massive stir.
Alleging that PM is opting bilateral policy on the name to reforms the labour law but it is against the labourers, she said.Slamming over the reform measures she also blamed that the Government wants to serve the interests of the employers in the name of labour reforms.

In Jharkhand 90 per cent female labourers are anaemic, they fail to get their both end needs, said Karat. labourers are also exploited like anything by the contractors who make them toil hard, without paying proper wages and other benefits. “The places where they live are also equally pathetic”, she added.Karat was addressing a mass rally at Mazdoor Maidan in Bokaro.
