The Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) on Sunday accused the State Government of dragging its feet on the isssue of domicile policy and denying employment opportunities to the youths of the State. The party also threatened to mobilise youths against the Government for not fulfilling its commitment of a domicile policy in two months and also criticised it for making announcements mindlessly.
“I had raised this (domicile) issue on the floor of the Assembly and Saryu Roy and CM had assured that a domicile policy will be framed in two months time, however, nothing happened so far. Today, people are agitated and want to know when everyone has been consulted then where is the delay. This government is forcing people and youths to come on streets,” said JVM leader Pradeep Yadav.
The JVM announced its action plan to corner the Government on domicile and will mobilise students in the month of June before hitting streets with students to communicate apparent discontent among youths. Yadav attacked the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) for allegedly striking a deal with Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in the name of evolving consensus on domicile.
“What they are cooking in the name of domicile is in front of you and evident from yesterday’s (Saturday) appointment,” added Yadav. Yadav who represents Poriyahat Assembly constituency scoffed at the State government for making announcements saying that action was missing as pronouncements were yet to be translated into action despite stating a time frame to honour commitments made to the people.
“Wherever they are going they are just making announcements mindlessly. Nothing has been implemented on the ground so far. CM said that the issue of Balu ghat will be solved in 60 days but the result is in front of everybody,” maintained Yadav. The JVM leader cornered government on statements related to setting up a bench of High Court in Santhal, distribution of books to students before beginning of academic session and putting recruitment of around 18,000 teachers on hold.
