JVM to stage protest against Govt policies

Issues like merger of schools, poor power supply situation and deteriorating law and order situation in the State have irked Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) as the party is going to hold a sit-in near Raj Bhawan on Tuesday.

The party is wary of closure of 12,470 primary and upper primary schools across the State under the policy of the Government about merger. “Under the school merger policy adopted by the Government about 12470 schools have been shut down all over the State. The Department of school education is saying those schools were unproductive with less or insignificant attendance of students. Instead of closing such schools efforts should have been to bring children there and improve enrollments. Still there are villages without school and the Government just to cut expenses on education and to refrain from making appointment of teachers is going for this,” Bandhu Tirkey, party general secretary and former education minister, said.

JVM spokesperson Yogendra Prasad Singh informed that the party in the leadership and presence of its top names including supremo Babulal Marandi would protest against pathetic power supply situation.

“Power situation is very bad even in Ranchi leave alone other parts of the State.

This has led to drinking water supply crisis. Condition of law and order is also alarming. Babulal Ji along with party vice president Saba Ahmed, principal general secretary Pradeep Yadav, Bandhu Tirkey and host of other leaders would stage a protest before Raj Bhawan on Tuesday and observe one-day fast to highlight the plight of the people,” said the spokesperson on Monday.

Nevertheless, other leaders of the Opposition have not been invited to show a unified face of the parties in the anti-BJP camps moreover there has been show of strength in the name of Iftar.
