JVM to knock Prez door on June 17 to dissolve House

Elongated President’s Rule in the State has made Jharkhand Vikas Morcha restless. The Babulal Marandi-led party would meet President Pranab Mukherjee on June 17 to demand immediate dissolution of the State Assembly and hold fresh polls.

Addressing a Press conference on Tuesday party general secretary Pradeep Yadav said that Marandi would lead the delegation comprising MPs, MlAs and other senior officer bearers of the JVM. “The Congress is keeping people of the State and also the JMM on the tenterhook. Sometime they talk about forming a Government and the next moment they talk otherwise. The Congress just wants to prolong the President’s Rule for vested interest. We have decided that a party delegation would meet the President possibly on June 17 and demand for his intervention into the affairs,” said Yadav.

Commenting on the preparations within the party for the polls, Yadav said the JVM had reached all the 81 Assembly constituencies and planning to hold meetings at those blocks where its position was not so strong. “The JVM has entered into poll mode. We would start a 45-days-long ‘sankalp yatra’ of the State starting from August 15 to reaffirm our belief that the party can only provide corruption-free, stable Government in the State with peace and security,” he said.

Ahead of the yatra the JVM would hold conferences in 41 cities of Jharkhand, starting from Godda from Wednesday. Its block level meetings would also be completed before August 15.

When asked about his stand on recent Central Information Commission order to bring political outfits into the ambit of the Right to Information Act, Yadav supported the move theoretically. “We are in the favour of transparency. But there are some issues involved as well. There are parties whose offices have not reached upto local levels. How come they would be able to answer the queries at the grassroots levelIJ lots of work is still to be done in this regard.
