Jharkhand Vikas Morcha will go to the people from February 19 to unveil the real face of ruling colaition on the issues of domicile and land acquisition bill–2015 and try to mobilise the masses putting party’s stand before them. The drive will be started from Pakud district of Santhal Pargana. Party president Babulal Marandi demanded a ban on any fresh recruitment in the State till a domicile policy was defined by the Government.
Marandi also stressed on passing a proposal in the Assembly to safeguard the interests of Jharkhandi youths and forward it to the centre for approval of Parliament under Article 16(3) of Indian Constitution.Marandi also alleged that even after 14 years of its formation, not a single political party in the power, could gather any courage to decide the domicile policy for the state.
“Being the first Chief Minister of the State, I tried to take some honest initiatives in this regard by adopting some of the provisions under Bihar Reorganization Act–2001 without making any changes in it, for which, I had to receive criticism by a larger section of the society,” Marandi said. Marandi further added that keeping away all the provisions to safeguard the interests of Jharkhandis a gateway for the entire country was opened by introducing the criteria of being an ‘Indian’ as the only eligibility for getting job in the State under ‘Jharkhand Primary School Teacher Recruitment Rules–2012.
The consequences of not defining the domicile policy and the new rules of 2012 are quite visible in the State, he added. Objecting the land acquisition ordinance - 2014 brought by Central Government at the centre, Marandi said that Jharkhand will be the worst affected State if the Act is passed in the Parliament.
“The BJP government at the centre intends to benefit the industrial houses at the cost of poor people of Jharkhand,” said Marandi. He also suggested that the farm land, multi-crop land as well as irrigated land should be exempted from the Act. People should get compensated with land against land which is being acquired by the government along with proper compensation, said Marandi.
“The compensation should also be decided on the basis of its utility,” he said. Marandi also demanded revision of Stamp Duty Act of 1899, on the basis of which compensation of any land was decided.
