JVM to corner State Govt during Winter Session

In the run up of the Winter Session of Assembly the JVM has identified host of issues to be used to corner the Government. The five-day long Winter Session is commencing on December 13 and the party has called a meeting for its legislative body on December 12 to discuss its strategy.

Addressing the media on Monday JVM legislative body leader Pradeep Yadav termed the Hemant Soren-led Government a complete failure on every front. “We want to make the session fruitful for the people. That’s why we have decided to oppose the second supplementary budget which is being presented despite just 22 per cent expenditure of the budget done by the Government so far. Development is not on the priority of the Government,” said Yadav. The party counted on the outstanding issues like sand auction, arms theft incident of a Minister, grants to Madarsas, no assistance for drought-hit farmers, domicile issue and poor condition of hostels for SC and ST students.

“The previous Government fell due on madarssa grant and domicile. This Government has not advanced a single step on these. Just Rs3,854 crore out of the budgeted Rs1,68,500 crore has been spent so far. State of law and order is very poor. The Government is also intensely holding our MlA Dhullu Mahto and pressurising him to buckle in their favour. We would raise all these concerns in the Assembly,” added Yadav. The party would also work to pass a unanimous resolution in the favour of granting special status to Jharkhand and sent it to the Central Government.

Yadav also lashed upon the Government for wasting Rs100 crore on Foundation Fortnight celebrated between November 15 to November 30 and not taking concrete action against erring officials and contractor after Chief Minister had refused to inaugurate damaged health center building at Dumka. “He had said that the firm would be blacklisted but after few days the NBCC given contract worth of crores,” alleged Yadav.
