Adding woes to the JMM-led Government which is already in deep trouble due to its coalition commotion, the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) has upped its efforts to pull the plug. The Babulal Marandi-led party has decided to extend its hands even to rivals BJP and AJSU in order to get their support in flooring the Government.
The party has handed over the responsibility to its legislative body leader Pradeep Yadav for building consensus in this regard before May 13 and also called a meeting of its own MlAs on May 21. A delegation of the party would meet Governor Syed Ahmed to apprise him of the affairs in the Government and may also demand for calling a special session of the Assembly.
“We are open to talk to the BJP and AJSU in pulling this obnoxious Government down. After building consensus we may call for a special session of the Assembly and press the Government for a floor test,” said Yadav on Friday.
The time chosen by the JVM is significant in the backdrop of State politics. When most of other parties are busy in parliamentary polls and keeping their figure crossed for lok Sabha results, the JVM is eying to take a lead by raising an issue more concerning to the voters of Jharkhand which is slated to undergo Assembly elections in November
this year.
JVM also counted host of other reasons to justify its step. “We question why this Government is in place and howIJ They should answer this question as Rajendra Singh (ClP leader) and PCC president Sukhdeo Bhagat both have publically said that they do not want this Government. If it is so, are they running it just to exert pressure and fill their coffers by befooling people,” asked Yadav.
Hitting hard, the leader charged the coalition Government with indulging in corrupt practices and also pledged to probe all the dubious decisions taken by it through special committees and judicial commissions if his party comes to power. “I think the purpose of the Government formation is over with the completion of parliamentary polls. They have managed their expenses to contest the election. They should have reprieved Jharkhand but not and intend to arrange expenses even for the next Assembly elections,” said Yadav sarcastically.
He also alleged huge corruption in handing over electricity bill collection work to private franchises by bypassing the laid out provisions and in preparation to issue work tender in PWD Department worth Rs 6000 crore “at the fag end of the tenure.” The MlA questioned decision to grant Pl licenses for coal to three companies on a poll day to drive home his point.
The JVM in order to pull the Government down would also approach one of its sulking MlA Nizamuddin Ansari and consider revoking his suspension from the party, if he assures to support the move.
The party with the move has put the onus on the BJP and AJSU. Any reluctance on their part can be projected as soft approach towards the coalition Government, walking on a tight rope at the moment.
