Adding confusion to the political pundits in the State who kept speculating over ex-Chief Minister Babulal Marandi getting cozier with the BJP in recent days, the JVM supremo made it clear on Sunday that the party was open for ties with any party to keep the BJP away from taking the magical numbers after general elections in 2019.
Marandi, who chaired senior office bearers’ meeting to discuss about how to take fight against so-called wrongdoings of State Government ahead, said after the meeting that the party will keep its such efforts alive from street to assembly.
“I must tell that the party is very much ready to extend hands toward anyone willing to keep BJP away from gaining ruling numbers at centre in next general elections in 2019, which is only yards away from now. As indications have been floating from some time, I also expect State to go for assembly election around same time and our party is getting prepared to dethrone anti-people State government equally,” said Marandi after the meeting was over.
The meeting on Sunday in which secretaries and joint secretaries were present along with other senior leaders was called to discuss issues before party, its preparedness for assembly and general elections and ways to take its ongoing fight against the Chief Minister Raghubar Das-led government in the State.
As far as issues with which the party wants to go to election battleground in State is concerned, the party has extended faith on all those ones the party has already been fighting for since at least last one year.
“We will keep on fighting for roll back of CNT/SPT Acts’ amendments, as both the acts already contain provisions of land acquisition in public interest. We will also intensify our fight for at least 27 percent reservation for OBCs in State government jobs, who have been barred at merely 14 percent at present. At the same time, we will keep on demanding State government jobs exclusively for Jharkhand people and for no one else in any case,” said Marandi.
He added that the party will carry on series of rallies across the State from June this year, starting from Dumka in Santhal Pargana on June 2. “We will organize a massive party workers meeting in Jamshedpur on June 11, followed by series of such rallies in another parts of State,” added Marandi. The party also came down heavily on State government for imposing alleged false charges against its principal general secretary and party leader in Assembly Pradeep Yadav, who has been in judicial custody for over a month in charges of attacking Deputy SP in Godda among others during protest against land acquisition for Adani Power in Godda.
