Jharkhand Vikas Morcha on Thursday started a two-day fasting programme at the Governor House demanding its own domicile and recruitment policy for the State. The programme, lead by senior JVM leader Pradeep Yadav and latehar MlA Prakash Ram, was started with paying homage at the statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Bhimrao Ambedkar. The programme will also be attended by former Chief Minister and JVM Chief Babulal Marandi on Friday during its conclusion.“The fasting is being observed against the policies and rules of the State Government where Jharkhandi youths are being neglected. There cannot be any denial that due to the non-availability of the domicile and recruitment policy of the state government, more than70-80 per cent of the vacancies are being grabbed by the outsiders, making the youths of Jharkhand completely devoid of it,” said Yadav.
Some facts regarding the issue were put before the Assembly by the party during the budget session of the Assembly. The facts were really surprising- out of a total of 575 recruitments of Assistants in Jharkhand Secretariat, 269 seats were for non-reserved category in which as many as 190 vacancies were filled by outsiders of Bihar, West Bengal and other States. Only 79 of the total selected candidates were from Jharkhand. Similarly, in the recruitment of +2 School teachers out of a total of 205 vacancies, 76 were outsiders.Yadav further stated that due to the non-availability of State’s own recruitment policy, Jharkhand youths were at great loss as there was only one guard called ‘Reservation’ which was being directly hit by the State Government.
